We have tiles on the roof! Looks pretty good too, they just need to do the finishing touches then they cab start bricking. Not bad for 27 days!

Day 26 - 30/05/2010

Went to show the inlaws the house yesterday and found that they had made a start putting the tiles up. It's starting to get really muddy around the house now, hopefully the rain holds off!

Day 22 - 26/05/2010

Got a call from our fill-in supervisor today saying that the gable facia will be different to the plans as they don't build it that way anymore. He's not sure why it was even on the plan but we have to sign a varation to say that it is ok. I went down to check it out in my lunch break and it looks pretty good to me!

We also have a vent in the back yard!......yay.

Day 21 - 25/05/2010

Not much to report today! The only change from the last post is a delivery of facia and guttering. I think they plan to install that tomorrow.

Day 16 - 20/05/2010

Went to the house again, but only because the kids wanted to! Glad I did go because I found that they had installed the wrong front door. I'll get on to them about that tomorrow. They had also finished off the trusses and put in the lintel over the garage. They have also put in the steel poles that will support he brick pillars for the front portico anf the alfresco.

Day 15 - 19/05/2010

Another visit to the site today and discovered they had installed the windows and put up most of the roof trusses!

Day 14 - 18/05/2010. We have Frame! (Updated)

Went to the block yesterday and discovered a beautiful timber frame on our slab! It looks great and they have put it up really quick. I also rang our fill-in building supervisor to ask about changing the colour of the facia but he told me that he had already ordered the facia and it is being installed on Tuesday. He also told me that the roof trusses are being delivered and erected this week and that the bricks should be delivered by the end of next week. I asked him if it was OK for me to install some speaker wire and he said it's fine as long as i don't hurt myself. What are the chances of that??

I went to the block at lunch time and they were installing the windows and the roof trusses!

Day 11 - 15/05/2010

We went back to the slab today and found that they had delivered the windows and lots of timber for the frame. Hopefully they will have the frame up this week!

Day 9 - 13/05/2010

Didn't expect to find much today but they had cleaned up the block, flattened out the dirt piles, put down some crushed rock from the driveway up to the garage and put up the security fencing. I think we'll still be able to sneak in though :)

It was weird walking on the slab, it's starting to look like a proper house now.

Day 8 - 12/05/2010

The guys were supposed to pour the slab today but due to the inclement weather I thought it would be delayed. I went to pick up the kids from childcare after work and we dropped by the block on the way home and were shocked to see that the slab had been poured!

It was so muddy so the kids had to stay in the car but I got out and took a few shots. We rang Shan when i got back to the car and the kids yelled "Mummy the house has been built!" All this in a week!




Not sure what's going on here, looks a bit wonky to me but hopefully they sort it out!

Day 7 - 11/05/2010

Shannon went to the block at lunch time today and told me that the guys were there putting all the slab stuff in but she didn't want to take a photo because she was embarrassed. They told her that the slab wil be poured tomorrow if the rain holds off. I went down after work and took a couple of pics.

Day 6 - 10/05/2010

Went to the block after work.....again! I think i'm addicted to progress. I wasn't dissapointed as they had layed the timber outline of the house in readyness to pour the slab. I had a great time walking through the "house" with the plans in my hand trying to figure out what was going where. I might not go back till the end of the week when hopefully we will have a slab.
