On Monday we had a call from the trenchers/pipe layers. The guy, Ian, told us that we need to pay an extra $290 for them to dig a trench to connect the communications wiring. I thought that was already included in our contract so I rand our designated building supervisor, i'll call him JG and he told us that it wasn't included and we would have to pay. OK, i'll cop that. Saves me digging it. Whilst we were talking we arranged for a meeting with him on Tuesday to go over the construction process.
So on Tuesday we headed down to the Dennis display at the Hunt Club in Cranbourne and met with JG. He seems like a nice enough man and gave us a few tips like suggesting extra noggins for mounting the TV's. He also mentioned that he is heading over to Europe for a month so we will have a fill-in supervisor for that period, bummer.
On Wednesday I decided to head down to the block in my lunch break to see what was going on and was very happy to find that they had started the earthworks! They had a portable toilet on site and had done the initial site scrape and set-out. Here are some photos.
