Day 57 - 30/06/2010 - Plaster!

Wow! Went to the block after work today and discovered that they had installed the plaster sheets on all the walls and ceilings, in one day! It really gives it a sense of space now. Very exciting!

Day 55 - 28/06/2010

The brickwork is done! Looks good too. I was worried that they might be a bit too dark but it's lighter than I thought and once they clean the bricks it will look even better.

They have done a bit of a cleanup of the front of the block and put some more crushed rock down because it's so muddy. The building supervisor rang the other day to tell us that there might be a problem putting up the left side fence because at the moment no-one owns the blocks. We will have to wait and see what happens there I guess. We may end up paying for the whole thing ourselves.

Not sure what happens next...plaster maybe??

Day 47 - 20/06/2010

Lots happening since the last post. Most of the brickwork is done and is looking good. The ducted heating system is in place and they have put the insulation batts in the walls. Won't be long till lockup I reckon!

Problem Solved

Credit to Dennis Homes, they made a mistake by not putting the Termite Protection in but they have rectified the problem now and we can move forward, hopefully without losing too much time.

Day 41 - 14/06/2010.

They have continued on with the brickwork, which is good considering how much it rained last week! I went down on Saturday morning to have a go at laying some speaker cabl and some Cat5e. I had a ball doing it and it's a lot easier when there is no plaster involved! I didn't get it all finished so i might head down next week if i get a chance. I'll also need to tidy up the backyard as there is quite a bit of tile and other rubble lying around and I don't want them to bury it...

Day 35 - 08/06/2010. We have bricks!

They started bricking up the house today and made some good progress considering how wet it is! The bricks look good and I think they will be done by the end of the week. I spoke to our supervisor and he told me that I could go in anytime before the 19th and install my speaker cable and cat5e cable. On the 18th or 19th they plan to install the wall bats and ducted heating and then start on the plaster.

I wasn't going to put any cable in but I figured that I may as well because it will be easier to do it now! I'll add a point to each bedroom and the lounge and playroom. I also spoke to the Telstra Velocity installer and we decided to locate the ONT box on the internal garage wall and also put the phone point in the kitchen.

Day 31 - 04/06/2010

Heaps happening today! They've delivered the bricks, put up the insulation, started to install the electrics and started on the plumbing (gas points, shower bases etc). The photos are pretty average because it was getting dark but i'llput some others up soon.

Day 29 - 02/06/2010

The roof has been finished! Looks pretty good too, a bit dirty but still looks good. A few pidgeons have made their home on the roof peak. Bugger off! Stop pooing on my roof!
